C. De-identified Research Data
• Data collected for the scientific study is de-identified. De-identified data will be used for statistical analysis and research to evaluate the effectiveness of the psychological support provided through TEMPO.

1. Personalized Self-management Support – To tailor guidance and resources based on your individual needs.
2. Scientific Research & Evaluation – To assess the quality and impact of TEMPO’s support services through a multi-week study.
3. Communication & Updates – To provide relevant notifications regarding your participation in the study, including reminders and feedback requests.
4. Website Security & Optimization – To improve TEMPO’s usability, detect security issues, and prevent fraud.
5. Legal & Ethical Compliance – To comply with regulatory requirements and ethical guidelines established by the CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal REB.

4. Data Protection & Security
A. Secure Data Storage & Transmission
All patient-sensitive data are securely stored on a secure server at McGill University.
• Data are encrypted using industry-standard security protocols during storage and transmission.
• Access to sensitive information is restricted to authorized personnel.
B. De-identification & Confidentiality
• Identifiable personal information is never included in research reports or publications.
• Study data are anonymized to remove direct identifiers before analysis.
C. Data Retention
• Personal data are retained only for the duration necessary to fulfill research obligations (15 years).
• De-identified research data will be stored for 15 years for scientific purposes in accordance with ethical research standards.

A. No Unauthorized Sharing

B. Research & Ethical Review Compliance
• De-identified study data may be shared with research institutions and academic bodies, but only in compliance with REB-approved protocols.

Public health or safety concerns, as required by regulatory bodies.

6. User Rights & Choices

• You can correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data.
B. Right to Withdraw from the Study
• You may withdraw from the study at any time without penalty. Your withdrawal will not affect your access to psychological support.
• If you withdraw, the information already collected for the study will be stored, analyzed and used to ensure the integrity of the study.
C. Right to Data Deletion
• Upon request, we will delete your personal data unless required for research integrity or legal compliance.
D. Right to Restrict Processing
• You may request restrictions on how we use your personal data, particularly for non-research purposes.
