How it all began
TEMPO was developed from a shared vision of wanting to help people with cancer, and those supporting them, take control of their health and their lives.
TEMPO is more than a self-management program. It’s a space where you can explore how your cancer experience has affected you and how you can move forward and achieve your goals.
TEMPO Then and Now
TEMPO is constantly evolving to address your needs.
Study Objectives
Develop a new innovative, easy-to-use online interactive program for people with cancer and the person who supports them (caregivers) to optimize opportunities for self-managing challenges related to prostate cancer and incorporating physical activity as a general approach to supporting health.
Phase 1: Testing the initial usability of TEMPO
TEMPO was developed in collaboration with researchers, clinicians, men living with prostate cancer and their caregivers. The usability of TEMPO was evaluated to ensure it meets all end users’ needs.
Patient-reported benefits
- Enhance communication
- Achieve goals

Test the TEMPO program’s acceptability and feasibility, and estimate the program’s efficacy through a pilot randomized controlled trial.
Participants included
Dyads
Patients alone
Acceptability
Retention in the program
System usability
Rated as above average
“I liked that the sessions were set up in such a way that it was thought-provoking and engaging. I think sometimes when you go through these— like I’ve done 360 processes in business and things like that and you know, your brain starts to drift, but I felt quite engaged throughout the entire session. I thought it was very relevant.”
