1. Introduction
Welcome to TEMPO (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the TEMPO website and services, including self-management support for prostate cancer patients and caregivers delivered through web-based intervention, and scientific research.

By using TEMPO, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use TEMPO.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and Canada and comply with ethical guidelines set by the Research Ethics Board (REB) of the CIUSSS de l’Ouest de l’Île-de-Montréal.

2. Eligibility & User Registration
• TEMPO is for adults (18+ years old).
• Registration is required to access personalized services and participate in our scientific study evaluating support effectiveness.
• Participation is voluntary, and you may withdraw at any time.

3. Description of Services
TEMPO offers:
1. Self-Management Support – web-based guidance, resources, and self-management tools for prostate cancer patients and their caregivers.
2. Personalized Programs – Tailored support based on individual needs.
3. Scientific Study Participation – Collection of de-identified data to evaluate TEMPO’s effectiveness.

TEMPO does not provide:
• Medical advice or treatment – TEMPO is not a substitute for professional medical or psychological care.
• Emergency services – If you are in crisis, contact emergency services or a licensed healthcare provider.

4. Privacy & Data Protection
• All patient-sensitive data are securely stored on a secure server at McGill University.
• Research data are de-identified and used for ethical scientific evaluation.

5. User Responsibilities & Conduct
By using TEMPO, you agree to:
• Provide accurate information.
• Keep your login credentials confidential.
• Use the platform responsibly.

Do NOT:
• Share your account.
• Post harmful or false content.
• Attempt unauthorized access.
• Use TEMPO for unlawful activities.

6. Intellectual Property Rights
All website content is owned or licensed by TEMPO. You may not copy, modify, or distribute TEMPO materials without permission.

7. Limitation of Liability & Disclaimer
• TEMPO provides informational support but does not replace professional medical or psychological care.
• We do not guarantee specific mental health improvements.
• TEMPO is provided “as is“, and we are not liable for any service interruptions or damages.

8. Study Withdrawal & Account Termination
• You may withdraw from the study at any time by contacting the research team at prostatecancer.tempocare@mcgill.ca
• If you withdraw, the information already collected for the study will be stored, analyzed, and used to ensure the integrity of the study.
• TEMPO may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

9. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions and continued use of TEMPO means you accept the changes.

10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
• These Terms are governed by Quebec and Canadian laws.
• Disputes must first be addressed through mediation or negotiation.
